Checkpoint BLN is a point of contact for all questions of sexual health for members of the LGBTIQ* community. We offer PrEP, PEP, HIV/STI tests, counseling on sexual health and chemsex issues, as well as STI treatment. Please see our website for more information about our work and our services.
Checkpoint BLN is seeking:

Psychosocial Counselor

34 hours/week
for immediate start | apply by Dec 7, 2025

Your responsibilities at Checkpoint BLN will include:

  • Counseling before and after tests for HIV, Hepatitis C and STIs
    • Advising on transmissibility, disease progression and treatment options for HIV, STIs and viral heptatitis
    • Determining appropriate tests and communicating test results
  • Counseling on pre and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP & PEP)
  • Prevention counseling
    • Counseling on safer sex, safer use and harm reduction
    • Developing individual risk management strategies with clients
  • Referral to specialized counseling and support services
  • Recurring counseling sessions with clients on sexual health and sexualized substance use
  • Participation in team meetings and topical working groups

We expect:

  • Academic degree in Social Work, Education Science, Public Health or comparable
  • Language skills in German (level B2 or higher) and English (B2 or higher)
  • Engagement with issues of racism and with discrimination faced by LGBTIQ* people

  • Further language skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HIV, STI, viral hepatitis, substance use, HIV prevention and harm reduction strategies
  • LGBTIQ* identity or comprehensive knowledge about and allyship with LGBTIQ* communities

Nurse / Medical Assistant

part time (30 hours / week)
starting March 1, 2026 (or earlier) | apply by Dec 7, 2025

Your responsibilities at Checkpoint BLN would include:

  • Taking blood samples, administering IV infusions, antibiotics and vaccines
  • Preparing examination rooms
  • Implementing hygiene measures on equipment and facilities
  • Providing first aid and assisting in emergencies
  • Documentation (practice management software & statistics)
  • Reception tasks (filling in occasionally for colleagues on sick-leave)

We expect:

  • Certification: MFA (medial assistant), Krankenpfleger:in (nurse) or equivalent
  • Competent use of modern communications technology and software
  • Engagement with issues of racism and with discrimination faced by LGBTIQ* people
  • Language skills in German (level B2 or higher) and English (B2 or higher)
